What is it like to live?

I watched a movie the other day. A typical love story. About a sick boy whose fate, doctors foresee, would not reach any more than 20 years - with a girl who never stopped loving him since grade school, and was with him all the way till the end. As much as the girl did not deny his state, she tried to forbid him from thinking about death. Along the way, one of the healthy friends died in an accident, while he survived. At some point he asked "what is it like to live?"

What IS this thing called death? People know it as a fact, but most ignore it. It was once said "the question of 'How to balance between thinking about death all the time and living in the reality?' is in itself wrong. Death IS a living reality. It is as real as our feelings, as real as our friends and family, as real as the earth we step on, as real as the stars that shine, as real as our next meal, as real as our next job assignment, as real as our next planned gateway, as real as all the things in life. But it is seen to be real by very few.

May we all be amongst those who remember death
